1.0. Introduction

This research deals with the online reservation system of the Villa Luz Resort Hotel. The term “reserve” are known as booking, is a way to carry out daily life’s dispensation. The purpose of this project/research is to create an online reservation system and install to the company’s website so that customers, tourists can easily have their vacation. This project/research is important to us because of its significance and implications. It adds up to our knowledge and credibility about the real life situation. To utilize computer skills, with programming as its main language, time management is also a factor in doing the project.

1.1. Background of the Study

We want to know the reasons of resorts and hotels in using manual reservation. We will conduct a study towards the topic because we notice some of the resorts and hotels still use manual reservation. The study will emphasize the effects of using manual reservation and how a computerized reservation will be substituted. Therefore, we want to find out how to increase the number of customer using computerized reservation. With the transition to an information-based society, manual transactions have evolved to computerized transaction. One of the solutions or alternatives to the problems that a hotel is facing is a system which can edit, delete, filter, monitor, store and secure the records of the customers. Online reservation system is a transaction processing system that solves the problem encountered during the manual Hotel Reservation. The computerized Reservation System aims to simplify the manual Reservation but making it faster and more accurate. Database is shared thru Local Area Network (LAN). We will make use of some tools and techniques to build the project. The system uses Graphical User Interface (GUI) to help the user give instruction to the computer.
