Living in the Moment I believe in living in the moment. I can’t control what I did yesterday, nor can I control what will happen tomorrow. What I can control is what I do today. I often wonder what would have happened if I could change the past. Would I be the same person that I am today? The moment is all you have, all you are guaranteed, and all you can change. The past is gone and the future is unknown.
Life is too fast for me to worry about days or things that have come and gone. My days and those of others are not promised on this earth and this is another good reason to live in the moment. If I spend my time wondering what is going to happen next, I will not have time to enjoy the moment that I am in. Life will fly bye and one day we will look back and see that it is all over. There is no life expectancy that is truly accurate. So moment by moment live your life to the fullest.
An idea for the fullest life experience is to stay happy, to live by the heart and its feelings. I take pride in trying everything that is safe in life and that will make me happy, because in the game of life, there are no second chances. You only get one shot, so you need to stop and smell the roses. Sure people, including myself, will have wishes or regrets, but I try to not let my wishes or regrets shadow the way I live the rest of my life. Live life to the fullest, and cherish every single second of it because no one knows when his or her time is up. Do not regret not living in the moment because as Alice Morse Earle wrote in her book "Sun Dials and Roses of Yesterday”, "The clock is running so make the most of today because time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift. That is why it is called the present."

In conclusion, I would say that, for the most time in life, an individual encounters some situations where he has to adopt the present leaving its past behind, or one has to compromise with the situation in order to be accepted in the world. The new perspectives influence a person’s life by forcing him to sometimes sacrifice its beloved habits. It also influences an individual’s…

We should be determined to live for something. I believe that to be an American means to believe in yourself and stand up for what you believe in. So I have a story to tell about a boy in my third grade class and what he believed in. In my third grade class at Fort Crawford we had a variety of students but one student was very different than the rest of us. His name was Gino and he was a Jehovah witness. Gino was everyone’s friend and we did not treat him any differently than everyone else but my classmates and I didn’t understand some of the strange things he did or rather didn’t do. To begin with he didn’t celebrate birthdays not even his own and he also didn’t recognize any national holidays such as Christmas and Halloween. But the one thing that didn’t just confuse us but also confused the faculty at my school is that Gino didn’t say the pledge of allegiance. One day Gino brought into class a book to read at recess about two boys who also didn’t say the pledge of allegiance. In the book two students were confronted by their teacher about not saying the pledge allegiance and were sent to the principal’s office. Once in the office the principal had an American flag on his desk. He asked the boys to spit on the flag. The first boy spit on the flag before the principal even finished his sentence but the second boy refused. The principal didn’t understand why a student that wouldn’t say the pledge of allegiance also showed respect to the flag by not spitting on it. The student explained to the principal that he didn’t mean any disrespect to the flag by not saying the pledge of allegiance. The student loved America it was just against his religion to say the pledge. That book helped my classmates and I understand that Gino wasn’t being bad by not saying the pledge; he just had a different believe than the rest of us did.…

minimize pain and sadness. This is an incredibly attractive viewpoint on life for anyone including myself. A happier, more fulfilling life with more money, friends, and great health. But there have been many ethical theories on what is the "correct" way to pursue pleasure. Epicureanism is based on the belief that goodness is in the form of tranquility and freedom from fear. These were achieved through knowledge and friendship. Utilitarianism states that the proper course of action is one that maximizes the overall good of the society. This action should obtain the greatest amount of total happiness. How do you tell which is right? I'd say that's entirely the prerogative of every individual. I believe happiness is a key component to a good life and how the happiness is achieved is also important. Happiness should be maximized, not just for yourself, but for those around you as well. I best agree with the definition of hedonism as described by philosopher Michel Onfray. "An introspective attitude to life based on taking pleasure yourself and pleasuring others, without harming yourself or anyone else." Achieving happiness without causing harm to others is a great outlook. So if someone gets an immense amount of elation from inflicting pain upon others, it is wrong. Also, happiness to should achieved by one's own willingness, and not forced upon you by others. Don't let someone else push you in the direction that they think would make you happiest. Contrary to hedonistic views, I do not believe that happiness is the only true aspect to an ideal life. To truly appreciate something, I feel one must experience the opposite. They say, "You don't know what you have, until its gone." I think misery or loss is an important factor to fully appreciate something that could potentially bring…

I believe that people need to take more time to appreciate the little things in life. This is my belief because sometimes the smallest things in life can mean the most to you. Take for example if one of your family members or close friends pass away and you have something to remember them by. The item you may have may be useless to someone else but to you it means the world.…

What is life, how did it start and who created it? No one really knows how life was created and how it evolved. Scientist believe that life is the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death. Beyond our earth there are unknown billions of miles of space that includes galaxies, solar systems and planets. Earth is 4.5 billion years old however the universe is 14 billion years old. The earliest forms of humans were documented to be on earth 200,000 years ago. This time frame is microscopic compared to the time span of our universe. I believe that there is extraterrestrial life beyond our planet and that aliens have been to earth in the past.…

If not, seize the day! Later never exists. There is only “here” and “now”. They are going by, becoming things of the past and neither your remorse, nor regrets will save them. Most people turn on the waterworks about things left undone and words left unsaid The moment is like a snowflake: you have only few seconds to admire its beauty, it is useful for a blink, then it turns into water. The biggest tragedy for a person that they spent the whole their life, waiting when the moment to live begins. We are so busy to live! Always “not yet”, “later”. Do flowers in spring say "not yet"? You are incapable to put the moment in a bank and wait the better times. Don’t lost your best moments only because you don’t sure. There is no time for mulling over. “There is only a moment between the past and the future, and this moment is called life” as it was said in one beautiful Russian song from the movie “The Sannikov Land”.…

One late night I sat down in a quiet room in my house to think about my personal experiences, the only sound in the house came from an old mantel clock, which I like to keep wound and on time. I very much enjoy listening to the rhythmic tic-tock, and I regard it as a remainder of our time here on earth. The lights were dimmed down as low as they could be dimmed. So with the perfect setting, I began a journey back through time, my time, my life. As I tried to pinpoint that exact moment in my life, when everything came together, when it all made sense; I began to understand that life is filled with these precious moments, although we may not realize it right away.…
