How I Can Contribute To America
I can contribute to America by helping people in need. Some people in America are less fortunate than others and can’t afford gifts or food. In winter it is rough being a person in need because if they have kids they would want to give them a memorable Christmas.

On Christmas morning I’d bring them Christmas presents and a Christmas dinner so they can feel included, the presents would be stuff like blankets, coats, hats, gloves, toys, and new clothes. There is a program that assigns you a girl or boy and you would go out and buy whatever you think that they’ll like and fill up a box and wrap it with some wrapping paper and give it to them. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person-kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely -Leo Buscaglia.” This quote is very special because I relate to this by giving those people gifts that were unexpected creates joy for them, when they get it so it brings hope to other people when they see kindness in this world happening right in front of them, because in the modern world there isn’t that much kindness.

I think that today you should go out and do something kind for a person , when you feel grouchy it will lift your spirit up and make you feel good inside, even if it is just holding a door open for someone or complimenting a person's outfit. Maybe they weren’t in a good mood but you just held open that door or complimented their outfit they now feel special and happy.

It doesn’t matter what time of the month it is you should always try to help people in need. If it is Summer give them clothes that they won’t be hot in and water because they are outside all day so they might get dehydrated, if it is fall and winter give them stuff they won’t be cold in and warm drinks like warm apple cider or hot

Each year in November I volunteer at The Basket Brigade. We assemble boxes full of food for the less fortunate to have for Thanksgiving/the holiday season. After assembling the boxes we each take 4-5 and deliver them to anyone who has requested them. This opportunity is very eye opening, it shows you how much a little kindness goes and how thankful people are that you care. I have also volunteered at Feed My Starving Children for the last few years. This organization allows you to help pack food to send to children across the…

Many families in the North Texas Region live day by day not knowing when their next meal will be and are unable to provide a Christmas that every family deserves. This year the club I play for, Tejas Volleyball Club, is making it possible for all families to experience the joys of a holiday so important. Tejas notices the stress on families that struggle with money this time of year. We realize Christmas should be carefree holiday that all families need to enjoy together with a Christmas dinner and gifts; this is exactly what we will provide this year to thirty six families in need. Every team at Tejas has a family they will “adopt” for Christmas. Each team has twelve to fifteen players, this will result in an abundance of gifts and food donated…

By giving your time and showing compassion for the people in need you will help them to feel comfortable getting the assistance that is so necessary to their survival and health. Volunteering is a way to help that has the ability to give back. There are many great benefits to volunteer work, and not only by helping people in need. According to Shayla in Benefits of Volunteering in College, volunteering can also "build your network", "strengthen your resume", and of course give you the knowledge to better understand the people you are giving your time to (Shayla). Building your network will be a vital part of life when trying to find jobs, internships, and make business connections. People you meet through volunteering have the ability to forever affect your life and may well continue to be a part of your life for years to come. What better place to meet people who share the same drive to help others as you do than at an organization who helps feed Americans in need? These hours will not go unnoticed on your resume either. "Scholarship committees love to learn how youth are helping their communities." These hours will not only be valued by the people they help, as you spend time helping others your outlook on life is changed by the skills and real life experience you gain from it. Though we, luckily, are not faced with the same life-or-death dilemma presented to Socrates, this quote can relate to those in modern society. There are an infinite number of questions and answers pertaining to life, and how it is valued. Like many philosophical subjects, these questions and answers are entirely subjective. From a personal point of view, I tie Socrates’ quote with that of famous trainer Greg Anderson: “Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.” [ii]…

People have different perspectives on how is life worth living. For me, there are many things that make my life worth living. Life offers many challenges but through the love that I receive from my family and friends I become strong enough to face them. Love that I can receive as I live is what makes my life worth living. The opportunity to receive and share it to others really makes my life worth living. Happy moments that I spend with my loved ones also make my life worth living. They help me create good memories as I continuously live. Another one is the chance to improve myself as an individual and to have a purpose on other’s life. As I explore my potentialities, it’s worth living to have an impact on other’s life. It’s like knowing that if I leave this world, I’ll be remember by those people which I have left an impact. And life is worth living because it lets us experience failures and attain success. Failures strengthen us to face the struggles and obstacles that we will encounter while success makes room for more improvement to be an individual worthy to be called as successful.…
