Then they started talking about how if they made a big fuss about it, they might get their way. One kid had said "those stupid silly suckers don't know what's coming to 'em!" (Alliteration) They started talking about protesting. They wanted to make signs that would say things like "if you don't give us what we want, we'll kick your
butts!" (Hyperbole)
They were in the middle of talking they heard the "knock knock" (onomatopoeia). They were stuck in a pickle (metaphor) because they had to go home but they wanted to stay. This was exactly what they meant when they said they wanted rights. They were forced to go home when they wanted to stay, and that's what they were fighting against. (Irony) They agreed to meet back again tomorrow.
When they got to the daycare they had all brought signs and they marched outside. They demanded to be heard and for the adults to meet their demands. A crowd started gathering. Eventually, the adults started talking and the protestors got quiet. The adults were in a sort of a huddle, and then once they made their decision it was almost like they broke out like football players. All the children were excited to hear what the adults had to say.
One mother came out and said, " we've decided to compromise. We'll give you later bedtimes, but only if you're not grumpy in the mornings. Well give you pop at night, but only if you brush your teeth extra long. Well give you allowance, but only if you do your chores without complaining. Those are our terms." The kids huddled up for a moment, but then quickly came to the unanimous decision to agree to those terms. All the kids and adults were very happy.
