Thought for the Day
A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.
To have a loving relationship with a sister is not simply to have a buddy or a confident -- it is to have a soulmate for life.
Sister is probably the most competitive relationship within the family, but once they grow, it becomes the strongest relationship.
The mildest, drowsiest sister has been known to turn tiger if her sibling is in trouble.
Sisters are best friends, they are advisors, they are teachers, and best of all they are people with whom you can talk with about anything - someone you have a special bond with!

Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do, they'll still be there

Happiness can't be found, when you seek It for yourself. But when you give it to others , It 'll find its way back to you ...
The Difficulties in Life are intended to make us Better, Not Bitter!!!
Positive Thinking isn’t about Expecting the Best to happen Every Time, but Accepting that whatever happens is the Best for This Moment!!
Many people fail in life, not for lack of ability or brains or even courage but simply because they have never organized their energies around a Goal!!
You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them.
All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own

When I think of the word sisterhood, I think of more than one individual sharing a blood-like connection. A sister is someone who you can talk to when you can't talk to anyone else. Someone you can get into an argument with and laugh within the next second because you know each other didn't mean it in a harmful way. She is someone who can make you laugh when you feel like crying, and will always keep it 100 with you by not telling you what you want to hear but what you need to hear. That someone you can depend on to be your rock when everything else is shaky. I believe that sisterly love means to accept your sister for what and who she is flaws and all.…

The short stories “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst and “My Brother’s Keeper” by Jay Bennet are both realistic examples of family dynamics and how they can affect the way siblings treat each other. “The Scarlet Ibis” demonstrates how older siblings tend to feel the need to assist or help their younger siblings in things they cannot do, often leaving the younger siblings codependent on the older siblings for everything. In comparison, “My Brother’s Keeper” demonstrates how trauma can lead to siblings leaching to each other and becoming reliant, more often one more than the other. Even when two people are not siblings but are close, one person can become codependent on the other, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is the prime example of this.…

The character in this story, Sister, seems to be in a way jealous and a little selfish, but with good reason, she has a sister, Stella-rondo, who has always been everyone's favorite and everyone would believe everything she said, from her saying that Sister was "one-sided to her,( Stella-Rondos ) "adopted" child. Sister has every reason to not like Stella-Rondo. Everyone else in the house seems to think that Sister is indeed very jealous of Stella-Rondo, and Sister can not even defend herself because that would have just verified everyone's point. Although it is a little comedic, the whole story shows bits and pieces of anyone's everyday lives. Jealousy, stubbornness, spitefulness, and sibling rivalry are the main things implicated in this story.…

In the novel The House on Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros tells about Esperanza and Nenny how they are as sisters. In “Laughter” Esperanza quotes that she and Nenny do not look like sisters as much as her friends Rachel and Lucy, “Nenny and I don’t look like sisters…not right away. Not the way you can tell with Rachel and Lucy…” (pg.17). I can relate to Esperanza and Nenny because just like them, my sister and I do not appear like sisters either and have things in common with them. Although many siblings tend to be alike and look like siblings some don’t.…

As you grow up, you learn many lessons from the adults around you, soaking in every gesture, word, and action. As a child, you strive to be your parents, or better yet, your older sister. I am the youngest of four. I have two older brothers, and an older sister, all of them have influenced my life and given me the motivation to work harder to be the students, leaders, and good people that they are today. However, growing up in a big household can bring confusion to who you truly are. Over the years, you fight for attention (or with each other), and it is easy to lose who you are along the way. Within myself, I have found someone with leadership qualities, perseverance, personality, and good-citizenship.…

Speaking of my family I have three sisters and one brother not counting in-laws. My oldest sister Makayla is married to John. John’s cool because he likes to play basketball too. Now Christa just got married to Cory he's my favorite, no offense to John, but, Cory likes guns and hunting and as a bonus, he has a snowmobile. My older brother, Colin, is going to college to be an engineer, although I very often question his methods of doing things, I think he will do well. Colin and I get along pretty well because we share a lot of the same interests. My little sister, Kianna, on the other hand, I can’t say the same for. We don’t exactly get along. She is so spoiled and always gets what she wants. Someone else in my life that I pretty much consider family is Stasia. She’s dating my brother, but she is honestly at my house more than I am. She’s not too bad she buys me food and I give her…

When you read this article it really makes you think about you and your siblings. I can honestly relate to this article because it describes siblings perfectly. How you feel about each other, knowing what one another are going through without them even saying a word. It gets to the point where me and my sister can look at each other and tell what is wrong. She can be mad at her boyfriend, a customer or me and I will already know before she says a word. We have grew up together and are best friends, she's there for me and I am there…

Not everyone can say they are a big sister. I on the other hand got blessed with not only being a big sister, but being one to Michelle. Michelle is my now 13 year old sister. We never really got to live with each other long because I was always moving, but there is no one that I love more. She can be the meanest person in the world, but she can also be my best friend. Because she is my sister, I have many jobs: making sure she is happy, making sure no one but me tortures her, and making sure our fights are not only a challenge, but also an art.…

My sister and I also became closer as we got older. I was in middle school when she went away for college. The first time we dropped her off and left I cried, but after that, I’d be ready for her to go back. Four years passed and we were back together. Between high school and now, we’ve had so many hilarious memories. People don’t understand our relationship. When we’re talking, it may seem like we’re fussing or yelling at…
