So to divide the government they created three different branches, Legislative Branch, Executive Branch, and Judicial Branch. Each one of these branches has a different job. The Legislative branch’s duty has the power to make laws, our national legislature is called Congress. There are two different parts to Congress these parts are called houses. The two different houses are called House of Representatives and the Senate. The job of the Senate is “to write and vote on laws in the capitol”. The job description of Congress is to “set forth the qualifications necessary for election”.The Executive branch's duty is to enforce the laws that Congress makes. The leader of the Executive branch is the president. Lastly the Judicial branch’s duty is to settle disagreements. They do this by having courts and the highest court out there is the Supreme Court. The founding fathers knew if they were to split the powers up into different branches that this would limit the powers of the government. But they also knew if they were to give one branch too much
