Tiger Pipefish Research Paper

Pipefish are sub families of small fishes which together with the seahorses and sea dragons from the Syngnathidea family. There are 200+ recognized species of a pipefish but they are frequently overlooked either because they are incompatible or get overshadow by the seahorse. My topic is the tiger pipe fish. The Tiger Pipefish can be recognized by its color. The species grows to 35 centimeters in length and it lives in Australia. It occurs from southern Queensland to central New South Wales and from the central to north-western coasts of Western Australia. I decided to choose this species because pipefish are unique to me and stunning and many pipefish make looking like that a hobby get overlooked but some have specialized requirements and don’t do well. When
pipefish get picked for the reef aquarium often don’t handle the transition from living in the ocean (the wild) to living in an aquarium (captivity), especially during capture and transport they don’t get the food requirement they need and it leads them to become weak by the time they get to where they need to be or to the buyers. The threats to pipefish are not well known as the seahorse but they are at risk from many human activities. The biggest threats now is a loss of their eelgrass habitat due to development and run off. Another problem is accidental catch by fishers during wild fishing.
There are 3 things you can do to promote the fragile sea grass environment. First, you can boat only in marked sea lanes to avoid damaging sensitive areas of sea grass that pipefish live in. Second, you can avoid motoring in shallow areas which can cause a lot of damage and pollution to the habitats. I think there should be a machine that protects the habitats of pipefish so people can boat and fish and won’t affect the pipefish community. The shallow areas would be fine to fish and bout and nothing will happen to pipefish. We will need divers, ocean engineers, technical scientist, and scientist that work with species to create this design PIPEFISH LLC in Alpharetta, Georgia is a new small organization that can maybe fund this proposed solution. They have tried to put pipefish in the reef aquarium to protect them but it didn’t work out too well as I have mentioned earlier. If this design is created people won’t have to worry about rules about were to boat. There aren’t any policies or standards currently to my knowledge that will affect the way my solution could be implemented Pipefish are a species that does no harm it is just like a
seahorse. Just because they are different a little and doesn’t look as cool like the sea horse does not mean they should be harmed. I will do whatever that needs to be done to help the pipefish and that is why I am pushing to create this design. Something needs to be done about this threats and my design will help. My design will be a barrier for the habitats. We could see them anchored or not in their born surroundings.
