Time
Time magazine is a weekly news magazine published in New York City. A European edition Time Europe, is published in London and also covers the Middle East, Africa and, since 2003, Latin America. An Asian edition, Time Asia is based in Hong Kong. The South Pacific edition, covering Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, it’s based in Sydney. Time, is the world's largest circulation weekly news magazine with a readership of 25 million, of which 20 million are in the US. It is widely regarded as one of the most popular magazines in history.
Time is also known for its signature red border, introduced in 1927. The iconic red border was made permanent in 1972. The border has only been changed three times since 1927: The issue released shortly after 9/11, featured a black border to symboliz mourning. However, this edition was a special extra edition published quickly for the breaking news of the event; the next regularly scheduled issue contained the red border. Additionally, the April 28, 2008, Earth Day, contained a green border.] The most recent change in border was in the September 19, 2011 issue, commemorating the 10th anniversary
In one of Time’s most recent cover story which marked the anniversary of the killing of the world’s most wanted man Osama Bin Laden. The magazine gave the readers an inside look into the days leading up to the raid, which lead to then death of Bin Laden . Details and recently declassified documents were in addition to the articles and photos which spanned the magazine. I believe Time approached the topic very respectfully in a manner that would not offend any people or religions in any way.
Time has been successful throughout the years for unique style journalism, being able to write about hard hitting news one week and being able to transition to cover much lighter stories another. Time continues to be one of the most read magazines in the world
