To What Extent Were The American Colonists Justified In The Revolutionary War
Colonists took on at the time the most powerful army in the world in pursuit of freedom. Outrageous taxes spread throughout the English colonies, making many settlers disconsolate with the British government the American colonies with complete disregard of the colonists' natural human rights, viewing the colonists as slaves to the British interest and not as an extension of the empire itself. Yes, the American colonists were justified in waging war to break away from Britain because the British Parliament was over taxing the colonists, and they had to pay to house and care for British soldiers.

As a result, the colonists were finished with paying taxes and decided to declare war. To clarify, “Great Britain had won the French and Indian war but Parliament still had to pay for it” (HMH Social Studies). In this case, King George decided to tax the people starting with the Proclamation of 1763. Accordingly, “To

At the time, “A new Quartering Act required colonists to house British soldiers” (HMH Social Studies). The Quartering Act was passed primarily in response to greatly increased empire defense costs in America following the French and Indian War. In other words, “There was the colonial currency act of 1764 after came the quartering act of 1765 and soon later came the stamp act of 1765” (HMH Social Studies). The colonial currency act prohibited the printing and issuance of paper money by Colonial legislatures, the quartering act required colonial authorities to provide food, drink, quarters, fuel, and transportation to British forces stationed in their towns or villages, and the stamp act sought to raise money to pay for this army through a tax on all legal and official papers and publications circulating in the colonies.
