Currently, it is no exaggeration to say that pet business is highly developed because of those who love to keep pets. Many of my friends are keeping pets in their home, and I used to keep dogs, too. While some people feel unfavorable with keeping pets in their home, others argue that keeping pets is a part of their lives. As far as I am concerned, I would like to say that it is reasonable to spend much money in keeping pets and it’s not a waste anymore. This is because humans are not vulnerable to animal diseases because of thorough researches by many veterinarians. Furthermore, pets can be a part of someone’s life, which means they can be involved in human’s family. To start with, I strongly insist that keeping pets is not hazardous as many veterinarians have developed specialize vaccines for animals such as dogs, cats and cows which can protect humans from being infected by animal viruses. So to speak, when people keep pets, it is necessary for individuals to inject vaccines to their pets periodically. If not, animal viruses can be formed and emitted to the atmosphere, and they have possibilities of invading human’s bodies, which can result in fatal diseases. Take my own experience as an example. When I used to keep dogs, I went to animal clinic in order to inject vaccine to my dogs once a month. Therefore, I have kept my dogs for two years and I was never infected by any vicious diseases. Although it can cost much money, I would rather pay much money for the vaccines than make myself exposed to poisonous germs. On top of that, there are many people who consider their pets as a part of family. From the past, many people have kept pets in their homes or gardens with various purposes. To be specific, pets virtually perform plenty of significant functions; they can keep their house being stolen by thieves. Additionally, the old are prone to feeling loneliness because most of them live alone. For these lonely people, pets can be their friends, and make their lives happy. For example, my friend’s grandmother has lived alone because her spouse was dead long years ago. My friend was always worried about his grandmother because she did not seem happy. In order to make his grandmother’s life cheerful, he bought a cute puppy for her, and it made his grandmother’s life more enjoyable. To sum up, I assert that spending money for pets is not a waste. As I mentioned in the body paragraphs, because of safety guaranteed by injection, people do not have to be nervous about catching any diseases. In addition, pets can solve one of the modern society problems, elderly society. Many elderly people feel solitary because it is difficult for them to get along with urban people because of weakened bodies. However, the pets can be their friends and families. Because of these reasons, I think it is worth spending much money in keeping pets.

Purdue University states that “The Human-Animal bond is the dynamic relationship between people and animals in that each influences the psychological or physiological state of the other” (“Center”). The Human-Animal bond is essential to the well-being of society. Animals can affect people in many different ways, specifically by providing companionship. This bond has existed for thousands of years, though people’s relationship with animals is much different today than it was in the past. The main reason that the relationship has changed is the concept of owning pets, which is relatively new (Reinisch). The concept of pet ownership has changed the way people see animals because instead of thinking of animals as…

In the article “The Last Meow”, written by Burkhard Bilger and published in the New Yorker, Bilger describes the current life of owning a pet and just how many expenses go into these animals. Bilger believes the care for pets nowadays is too extreme and that people spend way too much money to perform outrageous surgeries along with other beneficial practices just to save their pets. I agree with him to an extent. Although I do believe some smaller practices are necessary to help pets, like treatments when they get injured or have a cold, most treatments now are superfluous and help the owner’s emotions more than the owner or the pets well-beings.…

These things help me prepare for my future and allow me to keep learning before I enter college. There is a lot more to animals than their cuteness. Since I go to school and work and I like to make time for a social life, I tend to get things done in a timely matter. I do my homework the day I get it, I don’t procrastinate, and I stay organized to ensure everything is done the way it…

Some people claims pets are dirty. I don’t think this is altogether true. Responsible pet owners keep their pets clean and healthy so they will not smell bad. People also say that certain pets, like large dogs, can be dangerous. There have been cases of dogs attacking and seriously injuring little children. However, these cases are uncommon and are the result of bad owners. These people either don’t train their dogs properly or actually encourage them to be aggressive. So, the problems of pets being unclean or dangerous are in fact the problems of the owners, not the pets themselves. What’s more, it is said that raising a pet cost people so much. In my opinion, pets are good cleaners for the leftovers of family meals, so people can save money for sure.…
