Why I Want To Become A Veterinarian

Like other kids, I had a childhood dream. Some may have wanted to be firefighters or ballerinas, but I wanted to be a veterinarian. While most of their dreams changed as they got older, mine stuck and I am determined to achieve it. I would always play vet as a kid, but little did I know 10 years later I'd be working towards this dream I had so long ago. Having an aunt, that is basically a mother to me, who worked in the animal field gave me the opportunity to learn a lot about animals at a young age. draining a hematoma at just 7 years old was one of my first hands-on experiences. From then on, I was hooked. Helping an animal gave me a feeling I couldn't explain even today. That proved I knew what I wanted to do with my life. Starting my first job the day I turned 16, buying my own car soon after and having bills showed me a little about what it's like to be an adult, but not in the same way animals did. Being around animals has taught me responsibility, observation skills, and compassion.
Dogs have to be fed, groomed and taken on walks. Birds need cages cleaned, horses need their stalls mucked, there is always something to do while you have an animal around. I can't just ignore what they need and have them take care of themselves, it's something I had to do whether I wanted to
These things help me prepare for my future and allow me to keep learning before I enter college. There is a lot more to animals than their cuteness. When animals have broken bones, open wounds, or worse you have to know what you're doing. Precautions have to be taken and working fast with no mistakes during some points is needed. Since I go to school and work and I like to make time for a social life, I tend to get things done in a timely matter. I do my homework the day I get it, I don’t procrastinate, and I stay organized to ensure everything is done the way it
