Tony Tavare Case
Hello Paul, I am not the one that approve or deny a variance request. Tony Tavares makes this decision.
There were high level meeting between Tony, Steve, Malcom and Laurie Berman. Based on all the meetings Tony’s final decision is that there will no exceptions. From the beginning the direction was TAPE on Lane Lines when PSL > 5 years and Thermoplastic on the Edgeline.
Tony is in Washington DC but will be sending a Memo to all Districts reiterating his original decision that all SB-1 Contracts should use TAPE on Lane Lines for PSL >5 Years and there will be no exceptions.
The tape has been used since 2013 on about 35 projects statewide covering about 300 Longitudinal Line Miles with no issues. The word “Pilot” under the 2015 memo
