Policy Topic Search and Selection
The PPACA, also known as The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was signed in March 2010. This law enacts several measures that change the heart of the health care system here in the U.S. This new law encompasses different aspects of the health care industry and will take effect over the next four years. Some provisions of this act are as follows:
-Insurance is made more affordable due to giving the biggest middle class a cut in taxes for health care.
-There is a health insurance market that is competitive and allows millions of Americans the same insurance to choose from that all members of Congress will also have.
-Lowering costs of premiums for millions of families and smaller businesses, that are over priced for coverage everyday.
-Discrimination against all Americans will come to an end with no on going conditions.
-Our budget, as well as our economy is more stable and will reduce by billions over the next century and over a trillion over the next decade.
-All coverage gaps through Medicare drugs will be closed.
-Coverage to children under 26 on their parents’ policies will be strengthened.
-If individuals do not purchase insurance coverage, then they must face paying a fine in the end.
-Organizations that have over Fifty employees would have to be required to pay a $2,000 fee for each workers that is employed through the organization but only if the organization does not handle coverage.
-Any immigrants that are illegal will not be able to purchase health insurance.

With the signing of this milestone marks a major overhaul for health care and adds legislation which took decades to complete. For all American citizens and permanent residents this bill strikes a cord with benefits and debate. The democrats
