1. Torture is on the most extreme forms of human violence, resulting in both physical and psychological consequences. It has been used for thousands of years, dating back to medieval times 530 AD. Even though numerous laws have been made to stop torture, it is without thought of the consequences that occur. Torture has been proven as an ineffective tool for gathering concealed information and running the reputations of the country that use it. Nobody deserves to be tortured, as it is known to have enduring negative effects on both survivors and perpetrators. Torture is worse than death and often it could be the innocent who are tortured.

Torture is known for its negative effects on both the survivors and perpetrators. Nobody deserves to be tortured. Using torture against "suspected" terrorists cannot be justified. A terrorist is a person who terrorizes or "frightens" others. By torturing terrorists are we not stooping to their level? Are we then any better than them?? By torturing, we become just as bad as the people we are hurting, in other words, we ourselves become the terrorists. It is often assumed that by torturing people we will get the answers we are seeking; yet, it has been historically proven that there have been many cases where torture and force have been used on innocent people who have suffered. A case in point is the Birmingham Six case. Who decided who gets tortured, how about the six year old girl who happened to be around when they were planning an attack, should she be tortured? What effects it have on the psyche of the person administrating the torture. How much torture is too much, or just enough? There are too many variables involved for torture to ever be considered just. Societies that have used torture are looked down upon, as barbaric yet claim to be better than
