I work in the healthcare industry where TQM is used in my organization. As a hospital we have to provide excellent customer service in order to compete with other healthcare systems. Quality is measured in health outcomes and patient satisfaction within the healthcare industry. In order to gain a competitive edge, we have to strive to focus on customer satisfaction. This is driven by teamwork and continuous quality assurance
approaches. It involves everyone’s participation and commitment in order to succeed. Unfortunately, because not everyone is as committed as they should be with the quality improvement, my organization still faces many challenges in regards to the follow through process of TQM.
