1. Discussion

Trader Joe’s demonstrates the importance of each responsibility of the management process in practically all areas of their operation. They make certain employees are working in a relaxed atmosphere and that the shelves are stocked a maintained with products the customers are interested in purchasing.
Planning: The stores operate in a manner that makes them recognizable from all other leading retailers. They practice a “One in one out” policy as it relates to the introducing new products to its customer and to keep inventory cost at a minimal.
Organizing: They maintain an inventory of specialized products from various manufacturers, both locally and from around the world. The products are displayed in the stores in areas with

The stores are located in areas that are not considered prime locations and operate in a small manageable space. The performance of the stores are generally measured to other leading competitors in the industry, in order to come with a creative way of attracting loyal customers.

2. Discussion

Trader Joe’s offers many lessons that entrepreneurs who want to get off to a good start in the industry can follow. They should always maintain a manageable inventory that will not be detrimental to the business. It is always a great practice to have well thought out planning and operating guidelines for the business. It is also good to make sure that the employees are aligned with the company’s goal and practice a culture that will make working fun.

3. Problem Solving

Hazel should take time out to familiarize herself with the new team as they are an important part of her being successful in her role as a team leader. She should lead by example in working alongside her team. Hazel wants to manage the team in a way that will build their confidence in her leading them since the company generally promotes from within. She may want to be a flexible team leader and allow her human qualities to show. It is also good for Hazel to express to her team that she is not only there to lead them to success, but is also there to help with any issues or lend a listening ear when necessary. This will be crucial in maintaining a quality balance work
