The mixed method research design employs the benefits of both qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative research is organized to decide the quality of the problem, this type of research is not studied to provide undeniable evidence, but helps us to have a better understanding of the problem, it provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas. Conversely, quantitative research uses numerical data collected through polls, questionnaires, and surveys.
Through research and common sense, we know that childhood trauma does not have positive outcomes, the purpose of this study is not to contradict this evidence, but to examine how childhood trauma impacts behaviors in childhood or in other words what kind of behavioral outcomes happen because of exposure to violence for children. Next, social workers focus the importance of human relationship and seek to strengthen relationships among people, as well as creating a relationship with the client to create change. The social worker’s primary goal is to serve those in need, to address social problems using the knowledge, values, and skills they possess to serve their clients. Lastly, social workers need to be competent in their area of practice which makes research important by educating not only social workers but other professionals that work with children and families (socialworkers.org) This paper will consist of a literature review that will focus on previous studies about the relationship between childhood abuse and psychosocial behaviors. The literature review will also have a consensus of the authors section and will discuss future recommendation for
