Are trimesters more benefiting for students in high school? There are multiple reasons to support that trimesters are more benefiting for students in high school. Having trimesters gives students flexibility in making their schedule each year. Trimesters can also help the curriculum throughout the school. Also, it can help with student’ personal motivation through each school year.
Trimesters have many advantages, one of the main advantages being, flexibility(Miller). With trimesters students have more room in their schedules. Because of this, students can take more classes they normally wouldn't be able to take with semesters. It also gives them chances to take more elective classes rather than mostly required classes.
This way, a student's high school career is not all about meeting requirements, they can have more hands on and enjoyable classes(Duckworth, Dr).
With trimesters there is more room in students’ schedules to take new classes they normally wouldn't be able to take. A student would have about five classes per day, that means each class would be longer than it would in a semester. Each trimester is around 12 weeks long, which allows electives to turn into one trimester classes instead of two or three trimester classes(Burrows, Brianna). Although the class would only last for around three months, they can still cover all of the information needed, because the class lengths will be longer(Duckworth, Dr). This permits students to take more elective classes per year.
