POTENTIAL MEANING OF THE DIFFICULT PASSAGE
1. “…mounting evidence suggests that these so-called solutions, based on the principle of rigid authority, are exacerbating rather than ameliorating the problems.”
Exacerbating (verb): to increase the severity, bitterness, or violence of; to embitter the feeling of (a person)
Ameliorating (verb): to make or become better, more bearable, or more satisfactory; improve
Do these tests’ and experiments’ that result in certain solutions uphold in different cultures, where children and adults get raised differently?
The evidence that provides “solutions,” those that are based on structure of a person and the belief in authority instead of being bearable they turn out to be worse and filled with violence.

How do you promote autonomy (freedom) when our world is becoming more and more isolated due to the lack of responsibility?
When you examine certain relationships like autonomy (freedom) and responsibility you aren’t exactly sure how to endorse responsibility in a world that is becoming more and more hostile and indifferent.
