Tshidi Monologue
How do you know he won't talk?

I paid him and told him if he talks, he'll get into trouble.

So, are we still sticking to the plan - an armed robbery gone wrong?

I just need to make it look convincing - maybe shoot my arm or something.

Boss, you're still getting over the stabbing, now you want to shoot yourself?

Don't question my methods.
Just be on standby.

I'll call you to collect the valuables.

The police will want to know what was stolen.

Alright, that's fine.

It's a pity it all had to come down to this.

Tshidi is the only woman who gets me.

If you still care about her...

it'll be easy to convince the cops it's real.

But don't you think her family will suspect you?

I've been acting up a storm in front of them.

They have no

Hallelujah!
We thank God.

Hi there.

I just thought I'd pop in.
I haven't seen you guys in ages.

I've been wanting to call you.
What's happening in your life these days?

Not much.
I went to Tshidi's bachelorette's last night.

Hey! Tshidi's what?

Bachelorette's.
She's getting married to Kumkani today.

Huh!

She seems happy, so the least we can do is wish them well.

Well, I expected a funeral...

not a wedding.

You know what? I'll get us some cold drinks.
I'll be right back.

A funeral?

Who knows what goes on in her...

Gogo...

Lesedi, why the long face?

Did something happen at school?

My exam was awful.
I don't think I passed.

Jeez! Seriously, girl?

But if you did some studying...

it would have been different.

She did study.

Really?
Did you see her open her books?

Because I didn't see her.

The only thing I saw her busy with was her

Actually, you can.

Cellphone addiction is becoming a huge problem. I watched a documentary about it.

Children spend so much time on their phones that they don't know how to amuse themselves.

And they have no clue how to communicate face-to-face anymore.

Goodness! Really?

They spend less time outdoors...

neglect sporting activities, they don't talk to their families anymore...

That sounds so familiar.

They even suffer from withdrawal symptoms.

They get really agitated when they don't have their phones close by.

You should see them when they can't get a signal.

Can something be done about it?

The programme suggested that parents limit the time kids spend on their phones and...

- educate them about the dangers.
- Do you hear that?

I'm not addicted, okay?

We'll see when we get your report - it won't lie.
It'll tell us what we need to know.

A cold drink, anybody?

Why did he step down?
Is it about our divorce?

Jack wouldn't let his personal interests interfere with business.

It's also not like him to give up his power.

And into the hands of four youngsters who don't have any experience.

He should've spoken to us.

Why didn't he?

What is he planning?

The decision has been made.
Let's give it some time.

I took out my cell phone calmly and, “This is Sabastian Durham. I have a few questions for you. Do I own your company? Did your people have a task to do for me? Why do I have to wait for someone to take away the mess they had made before I can go to my room? Do you think I should take it upon myself to have trash removed? Oh, it’s company policy and yet I own the company! Are you hard of hearing? The hotel suite is mine, you idiot and the trash I’m about to throw-out is you and your entire board of directors. I believe I should be heading to my room in the next ten minutes. I’m so happy we had this little conversation. I know the rest of the hotel’s furniture will arrive in the next few days. I only need my accommodation done for now. Oh, your people are cleaning up the mess as we…

She was walking home after a big trigonometry test, which in her head had not gone well at all, even though she had spent hours and hours, preparing for it. When I think about it, her thoughts cannot be entirely trusted, as she was highly competitive and ambitious, and even though she was only 16, she knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. Who was she though? Her name was Annie Wan and her plan was to have a 4.0 GPA, get a perfect SAT score and move out. She put a lot of thought into it, you might say, but if you knew what kind of life she was forced to accept, how every single day of her existence was a struggle,…

On the kitchen counter I see a lock pick and some of my jewelry. When I asked what he was doing, I startled him because he jumped and knocked the lock pick and my jewelry off the counter. He then stated that he was looking for a pen and piece of paper to leave my son a note to call him because he left his backpack at his house. I then asked him how he got in and to explain what is he doing with my jewelry. He said that my jewelry was already on the counter and my son left his key in his backpack, that how he got in. I then told him to sit down and I was going to call his mother and my son. Then I told him to sit down and if he cannot give me a better reason for the situation that I was going to call the police. While on the phone with his mother he started crying so she said that she was on her way over. I then called my son’s father and told him to bring my son to the…

I was enraged and frustrated at this, and I wanted to kill Bob, but I cannot kill him, because I will be thrown in jail for murder. I will not be paid much after today, but I do get employment insurance, so I do get paid 55% of my salary. I also get paid for having a family of three, and thank goodness my husband also works. I packed up my stuff and stuffed it into a cardboard box I found coincidentally lying on the left side of the desk. The image of my family, my business cards, everything. I stormed out of the floor and into the elevator. I handed the keycard I use to get into the office to the receptionist. She said thanks and then took it, with no goodbye. Just as I walked out of the building with a box filled with my things, my phone rang. I stuffed the box into the trunk, closed the trunk, and pulled out my phone. It was an unknown caller. This is what I remember the phone conversation to sound like:…
