To Miss: Tracey Pitts Types of Roommates
If it is so difficult to live with different people why should we have a roommate? Many younger people want their freedom, but they cannot afford to do it by themselves. There are many reasons to have a roommate In order to help with the rent or they can’t live alone.
The First type is the provider, this person want to take care of all the needs of their roommate. Also this person always helps his roommate. For example, my roommate, he always likes to take care of everything in the apartment. This gives me some time to do my homework, one day I went to the mall then I was busy with my friends and I supposed to wash the dishes than I come home late and I found my roommate already washed the dishes .That is really make my really happy .Also I love this kind of roommate.
The second is the quiet person. This person always likes to be in his /her room. That is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. It is good thing if you like to live with someone who likes to be a silent person .In the other hand it is bad thing if you would like someone to talk to you. So that varies from person to person but me; I’m a quiet person and I like to be in my room most the time .Also I like this type of roommate.
The third type of roommate is the clean person. The one, who is always cleaning, and the one who always keeps his /her room clean, and takes shower every day. It is really good thing to live with someone who is clean. Also, you can cook and do anything you want. You don’t have to worry about it being dirty because you know that you have a clean roommate. He will already have it clean for you.
The fourth, type of roommate is the social person. This roommate is the one who likes to communicate with people and the one who likes to know and meet new people such as; my roommate likes to talk with new people even when we meet someone in the

This theory comes to explain the uncertainty among people who communicate with each other and how different types of communication will help to reduce the uncertainty. As a starting point, the developers of this theory (Charles Berger and Richard Calabrese) stated that uncertainty is an unpleasant feeling, which people prefer to avoid as much as they can. Every person has been confronted with the feeling of uncertainty, rather if it was when arriving to new a destination or more commonly when meeting a new person. In order to reduce the unpleasant feeling, people tend to seek information about the uncertain and by that creating more comfortable feelings, and more predictable relationships in case of communication with other people. “Coping with uncertainty is a central issue in any face-to-face encounter, whether interactants are conscious of this fact or not” (Uncertainty Reduction Theory Then and Now. Charles R. Berger), but when the uncertainty is reducing automatically the feeling of attraction (not only physically) start to emerge.…

The perception people have of dorms in general is definitely not what dorms are really like. Here at Valdosta State, dorm life would be more compared to life in jail. The living environment isn't the greatest in dorms. Living on campus in a dorm is supposed to be homey, like your home away from home, but that is not the case. Dorm rooms are very small, and it's hard living with someone else in such a small spaces. Along with being confined to a small place, there is no privacy. Many people have problems with roommates, and being in a 10 x 10 room with a person you hate is not a very ideal situation. Because of all of this I have come up with a proposal to change dorms as we know them to something completely different and a lot more enjoyable to the future college students here at VSU. I want to propose dorm renovations and how roommates are selected.…

Even if you don’t like your roommate it is their basic human right to be respected. There are little things that can be done to show your respect for one another regardless of your feelings towards the other person. You need to respect each other feelings by asking them how they feel, validating their feelings, empathizing with them, seeking understanding of their feelings, and take their feelings into consideration. It is unacceptable to just go and throw all your things all over your roommate’s or not respect their views of certain issues. You can disagree, and perhaps not want to associate with them, but you can’t take away the human right of respect. If you’re conflicting both of you should rationalize and figure out something that is beneficial for both of you. That is a key in respect, taking in consideration the feelings of the other person in…

As I remember, one of the biggest challenges I have faced in college is that my housing issue. I am currently a sophomore in college, and live in my parents’ house. But when I was a freshman I used to live at dorm with a girl. Flashback to my freshman year, everything was played out smoothly because the two of us just met getting to know each other. At first, my roommate started out just like me, who is quietly and timid. But not long after that, about 1 and half weeks, she completely changed her attitude towards school and works. She is very friendly and socially confident, which is very opposite of me. She hung out with her friends a lot after class hours and I have met some friends of her. They are very socially active. Hence, no wonder…

Living alone may seem great and be lots of fun, but living alone also has disadvantages. Living alone, teens tend to have more responsibilities than they know. They have to cook and clean on their own, which some young individuals may not know how to do, so they will spend more money on fast foods rather than staying home and cooking. Young individuals who live on their own also have to pay for their utility bills when, on the other hand, if they lived with their parents they wouldn’t have to pay rent or utilities, so it wouldn’t be so stressful for this person to live comfortably. Yet, young individuals living on their own have the freedom to come and go as they…
