Self-confidence on the physical changes linked with ageing.
As part of this task, I will produce a written document discussing the effects of
Self-esteem and Self-confidence based on the physical changes related with ageing. I will go through the positive and negative sides of the affects, along with the Physical and Psychological changes that could take place.
Self-esteem and Self-confidence are two very similar topics, although I will try and note the differences in this document.

Self-esteem is having pride in yourself (self-respect).
Self- confidence is having confidence in someone or your own abilities.
Negative side:
As we age, our self-esteem can either increase or decrease dramatically – there can be many different causes or reasons as to why this happens. When we grow older, many changes or developments take place - whether it is physical or psychological changes, a person’s self-esteem can still be effected.
Here is a list of the natural changes that take place as we age;
Skin: When we age, our skin loses its elasticity and becomes more wrinkled. The oil glands within the skin produce less oil, making the skin a lot drier. Using moisturizers and protecting the skin from the sun (using sun cream) can also slow down skin aging.
Hair: It’s natural for hair to become thin on the scalp, pubic area and on the armpits. Growth of grey hair also increases.
Height: By the age of 80, it’s very common to have lost around 2 inches (5cm) in height. This is related to the changes in posture and joint/spinal bones/spinal disc compression.
Hearing: Over a period of time, changes within the ear make it harder to hear high-frequency sounds and tone and speech become less clear. This happens roughly after the age of 55.
Vision: A lot of people in their 40’s start to need reading glasses, because the lenses in
