Identify the different reasons people communicate
There are many different reasons why people have the need to communicate with each other. Establishing good communication will enable adults and children to work together effectively. Essentially we communicate to:
Share information and knowledge with others
To express the way in which we are feeling to others
To enable us to work with others efficiently and effectively
To ensure that we don’t make mistakes
To showcase best practice and encourage the children to communicate effectively
To define roles and responsibilities
To share views, feeling and to express personal preferences
To ensure that we are working safely but sharing information
To build trust with others
To negotiate and problem solve with others
Let others know what you want and need
