Culture within an organisation holds the key towards its success. The culture within an organisation determines its working and gives a view point towards its future prospects whether the company is heading towards its goal or not. Organisational culture can be diagnosed effectively and understanding the schema of culture types in the organisation would explain many otherwise unexplained organisational members behavioural patterns. In simple words culture within an organisation can be defined as, ‘an active living phenomenon through which people jointly create and recreate the worlds in which they live’. (Morgan, 1997)
The culture of India (or) Indian culture can be best expressed as comprising the following
Humanity - The kindness of the Indians has continued till date. Indians are known for their kindness and calmness nature without considering roughness towards their principles and ethics.
Unity - India is a compilation of men and women of various castes and creed. It is the combination of modern principles and the old traditional values. Even the common man and the elite businessman share same news and worship the same deity.
Secularism - According to the constitution, India is a secular country. People here follow every religion. There are no discriminations among them.
Tolerance – Talking about tolerance, the Satyagraha principle of Mahatma Gandhi is the first principle that comes to the mind. It talks about the freedom struggle - freedom without taking a drop of blood.
Closely knit Social system -Indians generally follow joint family system but it is changing quite rapidly to nuclear type.
Discussing about the business culture of India, the first point comes to the mind is about the exchange of business cards and that too with right hand is considered to be lucky.
1) Relationship Building: According to Indian business culture, in most cases the meetings and deals are taken forward whom they feel are trustworthy
