The objective of this assignment is to expand students’ knowledge and to develop their critical thinking abilities in the face of real-world ethical dilemma and enhance their presentation skills.
Instruction:
1. Students are to form a group of EIGHT (8) members ONLY. Members MUST be from the SAME GROUP section. The group leader must register their group at the lecturer’s office.
2. Each group will be required to select an existing company/firm/organization, which is currently operating in MALAYSIA and identify and analyse of the business ethical issues.
3. The selection of company/firm/organization is based on a first-come-first-served basis.
4. Students are required to prepare a comprehensive and constructive PRESENTATION SLIDES detailing appropriate arguments/ points relative to the company/firm/organization business ethical issues.
5. Students must be able to gather adequate and relevant information on the issues debated. (i.e. online articles or journals, company websites, pamphlets, newspaper snippets, interviews) – EVIDENCE
6. Guidelines: 1. Introduction of the company.
2. Ethical Issues :
• Identify the unethical actions
• Causes of Unethical Behavior
• Is the action illegal? Does the action violate any laws?
• Do laws take any action towards the company?
• Does the action violate company or professional standards?
• Does the company make any reparation action?
3. Stakeholders
• Who is affected, and how, by the action?
4. Conclusion
• Justifications/ Arguments
