Your body has lots of different vital organs which have lots of functions and are interesting in their own way. I have chosen two which I was interested in, including the heart and stomach.
Heart
The heart is a very vital organ in the body. Its job is to pump oxygenated blood throughout the body and receive deoxygenated blood back in return. The location of the heart is in the middle of the chest between the lungs. The muscle tissue of the heart is called the cardiac muscle it has 4 chambers with horizontal and vertical stripes, the muscle cells pump and its involuntary which means you don’t know you’re doing it. The muscle cells branch repeatedly to form a network, through which contracts and spread rapidly, each cell having a central nucleus. The muscular tissue has the ability to contract by producing movement. The heart would not function without muscle tissue because without having the muscle cells pumping it would cause the heart to stop and not pump the oxygenated blood around the body; not being able to stay alive.
Stomach
The stomach receives food from the oesophagus and sends it to the small intestine. The stomach’s role in digestion is to break down food and mix it with digestive juices. The location of the stomach is just lying beneath the diaphragm on the left side. The muscle tissue of the stomach is called non striated tissue which is smooth and plain having layers of muscle with a single nucleus. Ridges of muscle tissue called rugae line the stomach. The stomach muscles contract regularly, churning food to enhance digestion. The stomach tissue is also called the gastric tissue. The stomach is composed of many layers of tissue glands, and it is an essential part of digestion, which provides fuel for proper functioning of the rest of the body. The first layer of the tissue in the stomach, from inside to outside, is classified as the epithelial tissue. The cells in epithelial
