Summary Now a day’s Information Technology (IT) is playing an increasingly important role all over the world – in both business and individuals’ private lives. All the University in the world are focusing on environmental protection and improvement [1]. We are living in an era of industrialization. We are consuming a lot more products in our lives as compared to our ancestors; this is to improve the quality of life by saving time, facilitating ourselves and much more. Most of the world industries are grown with certain pace and they have achieved maturity with the time. Then there are many environmental control authorities and regulatory authorities which enforce certain environmental protection laws upon them. But unfortunately as far as Environmental protection is concerned Information and Communication industry is growing at such a faster pace that such kind of controls are not fully implemented or observed by ICT industry[2]. This is a huge danger for the world environment. The main focus has mostly been upon competing with the competitors and introducing latest technology as fast in the market as possible. It is also consuming ever greater amounts of energy and is therefore the source of significant CO² emissions. According to calculation IT now causes the release of as much carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as nearly 320 million cars, worldwide IT now generates CO² emissions of about 600 million metric tons a year. Green IT can help curb this alarming trend. Simply by consistently implementing known energy-conserving approaches, the CO² emitted by IT systems can be nearly halved [3]. “Green IT”…
Just as poetry is a permanent mark of feelings that last forever on paper, tattoos are permanent symbols that last forever on the skin. Tattoos and poetry can easily be combined such as in Kim Addonizio’s sonnet, “First Poem for You,” the speaker admires her partner’s nature themed tattoos in a darkened room. This may seem to be a simple poem, but by utilizing tattoos as symbols, including tactile and visual imagery in her poem, and using the sonnet as her structure, Addonizio laments about the true meaning of relationships and their longevity.…
Therefore, in recent times, due to global warming and as awareness of environmental dangers have become widespread, there has been increased importance surrounding ‘making IT eco friendly’ or alternatively, the widely popular term, ‘green IT’. Green IT correlates with information technology and the environment as according to Murugesan (2010), it relates to the study and practice of the design, manufacture and use of more efficient and effective computer hardware, software and communication systems in order to help alleviate the carbon footprint and various negative impacts of information technology usage on the environment.…
The Constitutional Convention began as an attempt to amend the Articles of Confederation. The Constitutional Convention directed at making an entirely new government. The meeting was privately held, which permitted the members to talk their intellectual capabilities without fear of political retribution. A single matter on which there was complete agreement that George Washington should be the head of state in the Convention. Incorporating, Washington, there was forty-five other representative attended. The states had voted for members to go to the convention who were, for the most part, members of the academic and community elite. The members were rich, and desire to strengthen the national government to protect trade and upgrade financial…
Going green has its strengths for many companies, the buildings will be more electrically efficient due to better insulation and more efficient machinery and, employees will be happier because they are working in better conditions. A weakness would be if the upgrades are made in the wrong locations; if employees do not experience the benefits of the upgrades it will have little effect on morale. Once opportunities for expansion become available again, procuring buildings that have green technology in place will be additionally advantageous. A major threat to going green is expending too much cash at one time during the upgrade process; this process has to be done…
Project Objectives: This is a high priority for our company. This is the initial project charter and the objective is to research possible applications of green computing, which include:…
The energy that humankind is using at home pollutes the environment and reduces the availability of energy in the future. (GovHK 2010) Lighting and air conditioning are the major forms of energy consumption at home. (GovHK 2010) Both governments are therefore working to help all homes use less energy and save money from energy bills by proposed regulations and financial support. (Australian Government 2009) and (GovHK2010) The Energy Efficiency Labelling Scheme is being promoted in Hong Kong and the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) programs are also being promoted in Australia. (Australian Government 2009) and (GovHK2010) These two programs have similar functions and policies. They are set out in the relevant appliance standards. (Australian Government 2009) and (GovHK2010) “For lighting, compact fluorescent bulbs are highly cost-effective replacements for incandescent, and the prices of new technologies, such as LED, are declining.” (Diesendorf 2007) In brief, the Australian and Hong Kong Governments have similar policies to save energy in homes by reducing light energy and setting appliance…

Official project request forms for the recommended solutions would also be created as part of the project.…
“Life’s Good- When It’s Green”- this is a program of LG Electronics which includes two parts of procedures: pre- production and post-production. In thir vision, it is estimated that 15, 000 tons of pre-production and 30, 000,000 tons of post-production stages of green gases should be reduced as their target in the near future.…
Most of Malaysian companies as well as foreign companies offer scholarships and low-interest-rate loans for students to pursue their studies domestic and abroad. Petronas, said for example, offers academic scholarships to students who have obtained excellent results in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) to further their undergraduate studies in both local and overseas universities (Petronas, n.d.). As for the healthcare system in Malaysia, although the Malaysian government allots substantial resources in improving the healthcare facilities, the quality is often not as high as the facilities in the private sector. Therefore, private healthcare sector’s helps and supports in carrying out government initiatives are very crucial. KPJ Healthcare Berhad’s first waqaf hospital in Pasir Gudang is a charity clinic that aims to meet the need of those who have unequal accessibility to medical facilities (KPJ Healthcare Berhad, n.d.). In Malaysia, environmental CSR activities are not given much weight as compared to other western countries whereby environment comes after economic benefits (Yap, n.d.). In 24th July 2009, however, the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water Malaysia (KeTTHA) had finally introduced the National Green Technology Policy. The policy, which is built on four pillars – energy, environment, economy and social, is aimed to promote sustainable development while accelerating the country economy (Green Tech Malaysia, n.d.). In line with this policy, Genting Group implements various environmental friendly initiatives to preserve and conserve the environment for future generations,…

Malaysia has recognised green technology as one of the key drivers of national economic growth. To achieve this, the Government is currently reorienting its policies to promote and develop green production. (Matrade, 2011) In order to enhance the growth of green technology of national economy, Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) are formed.…
The main positive impact that globalisation has on the environment are that there is improvements in the use of resources and awareness and that due to globalisation research is being conducted that creates greener technology. Globalisation has assisted in improving the use of resources and saving the environment by promoting growth through development, improving education and incomes. The World Bank is an example of this as it has successfully helped Mexico City in the 1990s to reduce the number of unhealthy ozone days. Due to globalisation multinational corporations have been conducting research and creating technology to reduce the impact of humans on the environment often referred to as green technology. Some examples of greener technology are hybrid cars and the new ‘green’ Apple Mac. Hybrid cars are a green option for cars and they typically achieved greater fuel economy and lower emissions than normal cars which results in fewer emission being generation. Apple has stated that MacBook has been built “using materials that are highly recyclable and free of many of the harmful substances present in other computers.” The software and hardware have also een designed to work together to make the computer more energy efficient and to “minimze the carbon footprint of the MacBook.” Unfortunately the negative impacts of globalisation on the environment far outweigh the positives.…
