• Why was not given an opportunity to speak during Head of Department (HOD) when my other white colleagues were given to discuss about their departments.

• Why is it acceptable for a GM to show a video Usual Suspects for 2.34 minutes when Kelvin Spacey a character as a disabled during HOD when it was my turn to talk about my department, when the clip finished Roshell the AGM made a comment that she would rather watch the clip again than listen to me talk?

• Why did a colleague not action when a member of staff called me that, a white person better than in front of him and supported him? I advised Roshell, the AGM to treat me the same and with respect however; she has ignored requests on several times. Just recently I approached the new GM Richard Wilson hoping that for him to listen and take action. Unfortunately it is not the outcome I expected from Richard, he that said he does not accept with the approach but, he finally supports the way she speaks to me because I have reputation of not doing someone. This action was delayed and not handled properly as it should have been.…

As human beings, we pass by people everyday whether they may be homeless or not. Do you usually help people if they look like they need it? Probably not, but some people do help others. This is called the Bystander Effect and it happens everyday; we might just not realize it. As human beings, we sometimes assume that someone else will step in and help. We don't think it is necessary to help them if someone else can do it, and we may be called selfish or lazy, but sometimes it’s not our fault if they are up to no good. “The Bystander Effect is the tendency for people to avoid getting involved in an emergency they witness because they assume someone else will help them” (Licht). A lot of times, human beings are so caught up in their own lives…

One that comes to mind is Donald Trump. He is blatently rasist and condems 17% of the United States population. Because is in the top 1% he can get away with it because the members in his social group this behavior is acceptable. The second that comes to mind is the dehumanization of the homeless population. Businesses would rather put down spikes to keep from having people having a dry place to sleep that help and donate to the homeless. Just because of someones social standing does not mean they are any less…

This paper will examine a specific population of clients who have special needs. I discovered that homeless means more than not having a house but a permanent place of residence of one’s own. In addition, there are other circumstances of reasoning why people are homeless and it’s unfair to stereo type them all as drug user being the primary cause. Drug use could be one reason and then there are others such as: loss of employment, alcoholism, and physical or emotional abuse. The population that I will be examining is the homeless. A personal perspective on how I, as an advocate, assist with problems this group has such as: food, shelter, clothing, and transportation needs.…

“She lives with a tribe of homeless teens- Runaways and throwaways, kids who have no place to go to other than the cold city streets, and no family except for one another. Abused, abandoned and forgotten, they struggle against the cold, hunger, and constant danger” (“Can’t get there from here” by Todd strasser). Here in the United States, about more than 610,000 people face the tragedy of losing their homes (Annual Homeless Assessment). As a matter of fact, according to the “Global Homeless Statistics,” it is estimated that about 100 Million people are homeless worldwide. Many of us, having a roof over our heads, mistreat them, making them seem invisible to our world. Sometimes, we even treat them as minority, as if they were…

Imagine all the events that occurred in your life today. You woke up from your warm bed, took a shower, got dressed, and went to school, work, or both. Then you came home, you had dinner, and went to sleep. These are all basic needs that many people in the United States today don't have. Most people would agree that a day like this is fairly ordinary. Shelter, clothes, food, education, and family are all things that we usually take for granted and things that every person deserves.
