The best team that I have ever been associated with, was a team created at work called “The VA-CLC Nurses”. The team was created by a co-worker to run the 5k run in the honor of our fallen veterans. The results were very favorable considering the fact that we were able to recruit a lot of people to join and we all worked great together. The leader maximized the team’s strength by communicating to all of us on how to put our differences aside, and on how to come together for a greater cause than our own. She organized us into small groups depending on what duties needed to be done. The staff at night is not the worst team, but neither is it the best team that I have worked with. It is unfavorable, first because we do not have enough staff, second we have certain employees that are late and that slack off, leaving a lot of work on other staff members. The leader could maximize the strength of the team by being fair and dividing the duties up equally and assuring that each staff member is doing what they are supposed to be doing. Even better, communication with all staff can maximize the strength of the team.
The Herzberg Model explains the satisfaction and motivation of a team. Considering the outcome and how successful the team was. Our veterans and our team were satisfied with how well we did. We were able to recruit people to join the team that didn’t even work on our unit, including people that didn’t even work at the VA. We were able to set a plan into play and accomplish that plan through all of our hard work of pulling a reliable team together. The one that were not able to make the run still came out to support us from the sidelines. All in all, our work was very
