We’re not all born with a set of values and expectations, so we all learn our values and beliefs from our parents and/or guardians who raise us. Not only do we learn through adults, but we also learn by observing others. As we all grow up and reach an age that we can start to understand values and beliefs, we can begin to internalize them. Mariam ran away from home and hoped that someone else would help her. I have actually been hit on by two 60 year olds in the same store. One of them followed me around the store and started flirting with me and asked how old I am and when I said 18 he asked for my number, yea I said “no” because that is just creepy and disturbing. The other guy that hit on me looked homeless. When I saw him just sitting by the shopping carts he stuck his tongue around and moved it around outside his mouth, I saw him walking in and out of the store and he did the same thing to me with his tongue. Yea, I never go to that store again because of what happened to me
