Advertisements Shape how people should View Others America has many forms of expressing how a man or woman should be seen and viewed by others. Everyday millions of humans get triggered into having the mind set that they are supposed to have a certain expectation about themselves to fit in with the world. Media is used to tremendously to help promote companies’ products, so overtime these advertisements have began to stick to a certain type of commercial that stereotypes people. An example of perceiving ads is a Victoria’s Secret ad versus a Polo ad. Every Victoria’s secret ad is similar to each one. This company presents that woman should be super skinny with an outstanding figure. In this ad they are promoting a new perfume on the market. She is walking outside at night with just a bra and panties on. During the commercial nothing is said and the model is just being sown from different angles. Many of their ads use very intriguing colors to attract your attention, such as black and very bright reds. The Ralph Lauren: Red Polo ad displays a story of what every man thinks they should want and what they should aim to look like. This ad is cologne commercial for their latest fragrance. They draw you in by bold tasteful colors, typical models, and sexual messages. The Victoria’s Secret and the Polo ad both used dark colors to set the mood to an intense commercial. The characters play a secretive role that makes you interested in what this attractive figure has. The difference is the Victoria’s secret ad is a dominant girl advertisement and Polo is strictly to attract male buyers. In a majority of these ads, a larger model is never shown. That alone sets the audience to a select few. People will always compare themselves to these models and if they don’t feel like they are good enough, they will never purchase that

    Very often we see women depicted in advertisements wearing very little and trying to seduce the men even though their target market is women.
