Violent images
There are so much going on in the world everyday, we receive the information by newspaper, internet and other Medias. Images containing violence are shown throughout the newspaper.(e.g. war images, strike images etc) Though I strongly disagree that violent or offensive images should be shown in public Medias, as this can result to influence on children, offend the subject, or causing the information to be misinterpreted.

Nowadays, children have easy access with the news, either on TV, newspaper or the internet. Because of easier access to news, they will have contact with all sorts of images that may not be suitable for their age. These images can have great impacts on the children because their minds aren¡¦t mature enough

    In Violent Media is Good for Kids, Gerard Jones argues that violent forms of media in our pop culture can be used as a means of helping kids cope with rage. Throughout his essay, Jones promotes the idea that kids should use “creative violence” as a tool to transfer their negative emotions rather than acting out on them (197). Although Jones points out valid arguments to defend violence in media, he fails give a clear definition to determine what constitutes it.     Childhood is a multifaceted concept. Above all, most nobly, it is about innocence. The sexualisation of young people through a combination of razor sharp marketing, explicit lyrics, photo shoots and music videos together with a general coarsening of culture, must have an effect on the younger generation. Sex sells. And in a world where young girls who can barely walk are placed in high heels and playboy t-shirts, where supposed role models like Miley Cyrus, are regularly seen in minimal clothing, gyrating, twerking and suggestively licking inanimate objects, there are arguments being put forward by parents that these images in the media, art and photography are harmful to children. While I myself do not have children, I do plan on having them and have spent some time in loco parentis as a nanny; I feel this issue is an important one that needs addressing and something that as a society we need to discuss. Over the years we have seen an increase in teenage drinking, sexual activity and other behaviour that is less than innocent1 in the UK. In a world where children are more vulnerable than ever, they are also more aware of their surroundings, which begs the question whether the radical behaviour of the nations children is the fault of the media or the parents. A staggering “one in five children aged five to seven are accessing the internet without supervision from a parent” and shockingly less than half of those have some kind of filtering software to prevent them accessing inappropriate and adult material 2. Everyone from doctors to teachers, the police to art critics and photo lab workers are continuously on the look out, even subconsciously for anything even slightly of concern where children are involved.     The article “The Price of Public Violence” touches on the serious issue of the great harm of public violence on those who have been wounded or who have witnessed the shootings in terms of strong mental trauma. According to the author, the fact that every year a number of people die of murder is startling; moreover, the fact that the majority of murders happen in public places need more attention as the public violence has caused serious consequences. People who have been wounded in the shooting or who have witnessed the shootings suffer a lot from mental stress and even psychic disorder.
