Virus Monologue
I sat alone on a burgundy bench in a lonely cafe, admiring the bitter aromas emitting from the coffee brewer. I take in the grayish hues of the sky, and listened to the static sounds of Jupiter’s morning radio.
“The galactic government advises citizens to keep watch a virus affecting many victims is changing their brain function. Causing them to be unstable and irritable to others, also an urge to cause havoc. Please keep watch, as the virus is being quarantined. “ The news reporter proclaimed. I began to laugh hysterically. “She knows what she is talking about. A virus can “totally” survive on the coldest planet in the galaxy.” But being the most ignorant entity on Jupiter, I brushed it off as a Hoax. Oh boy, this was definitely no hoax.

“Personally, I don’t know. These days the impossible can be possible.” The cashier answered. “Sure.” I whispered in denial.
I quickly took a sip of my cup of coffee, which tasted particularly bland and gather my belongings. However, something in peculiar caught my eyes, it was a metallic mist rising from the floor boards. It was thick like smog, but was extremely cold to the touch. Once it came in contact with my skin, it seeped through my pores.Coursing through my veins causing my vision to blur. “M’am get up!” The cashier screamed while shaking my lifeless body. I grumble in agony as I slowly push myself onto my boney elbows, to regain full my

Before Kira could reply, I pried my calloused hands in her mouth. With my fingers, I push against the walls of her mouth and stretch it upwards. Her muffled cries in pain increased as I continue extend her smile. The sounds of irreversible cracks and snaps of tendons echoed until the cafe was dead silent. I then gently removed my blood ridden hands and admire the new smile that expanded to her ears. I patiently sat until I heard the sounds of police sirens play.
“Whoever’s in there come out with your hands in the air!” yelled the police.
I slowly came out abiding their rules. Immediately, two cops don’t hesitate to cuff my hands together and lead me to backseat of the cop car. From that point on I would be sent to quarantine.
“Why did you kill her?” The investigator interrogated while opening up the evidence folder.
“I didn’t kill her sir.” I lied. “In fact, she tried to kill me.”
“If she tried to kill you, how come you didn’t called the police?” The investigator

Jaax is a very determined and strong-willed army veterinarian, she has a loving family consisting of her husband and two children. It was the longest walk into town I have ever taken, because of all the people of course. The whole time all I could think about is what are they going to do to me. In this town we hang or imprison murderers. Honestly I can’t think of which I would prefer if they gave me the option. If I was to be sent to prison, then I would serve a life sentence which in my case might not be that long. This sounds better than being hung. Finally, we made it to the Sheriff’s office, and I sat down in the chair right in front of his desk. He already knew why I was there, everyone in town knew by now what I had done. I suppose they would be shocked to know I was capable of murder. I however know exactly what I am capable of doing.…
