Introduction
A person needs a daily intake of Vitamin C to stay healthy; therefore, one should be aware of what fruits he/she should ingest daily or more days to obtain stronger stamina and the abundance of antioxidants in the body to reverse oxidation. Vitamin C or L-ascorbic acid is essential for normal growth of humans and it helps in the repair and reconstruction of body tissues lost over time. It is an antioxidant that blocks the damage caused by free radicals. People who take Vitamin C daily tend to build up a great immune system and are not prone to common ailments, sicknesses and other health conditions. Background of the Study Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of your body. It is used to form an important protein used to make skin, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels. It heals wounds and repair cartilages, bones and our teeth. Furthermore, Vitamin C is one of the many antioxidants. Antioxidants are nutrients that block some of the damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are made when your body breaks down food or radiation is felt. Statement of the Problem This research is designed to determine which fruit contains the highest amount of Vitamin C. The chosen fruits: papaya, calamansi, orange, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, apple and kiwi --- were selected on their abundance of vitamins and benefits to the human body. Also, they were selected by their proximity in seasons and how unaware people are of their content. Specifically: 1. To know which fruit has the highest amount of Vitamin C 2. To differentiate the abundance of each fruit’s ascorbate content 3.
