Vivaldi's Gloria Analysis
A child wakes up in the middle of the night out of fear from a nightmare he just had. His mother, who quickly comes to his rescue, comforts him. So he is able to succumb to sleep once more, she sings and hums to him gently to calm him down. The soft music his mother makes acts therapeutic for the boy so he can once again relax.
The word music originated from the Greek word mousa. It was then adopted by the Latin language to form the word musica and then evolved through the French language to get musique. The English speakers in the world today now know the word as music.
Music is and instrumental, vocal, or natural sound that expresses an emotion or scenario which is meant for people not just to hear but to feel. It is like word or wordless poetry, such as classical music, that people can easily feel and relate to. The sounds of music range anywhere from Hip hop artists sending messages out about injustice to a Classical orchestra portraying emotion. It allows people, some of which can be from all different cultures or backgrounds, to feel a similar emotion in those brief moments. For example, Classical choirs tend to sing in many different languages, Latin being one of the many which is seen in Vivaldi's Gloria in D major. Handling heartbreak, solving a math problem, or keys to world peace is just a few tips music can enlighten people with. A song titled "Man in the Mirror" sung by Michael Jackson is a great example of a message on how to obtain any goal a person wants to reach. "If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make that change" is a line from this song.
