Volunteer: Skill and Young People

Volunteer simply means giving up your own time to help others without payment. There are many opportunities for young people to get involved in service activities, through schools, service clubs, family or neighborhood based volunteering. The challenge is to maintain youth interest and commitment to community service by showing them the benefit to the community they are serving and to themselves. I believe that participating in volunteer community service is a beneficial for teenagers to be involved in.
Young people can often gain new skills and find new career opportunities that they had not thought of before. In addition, the experiences gained in volunteer settings can provide them with skills in leadership and decision-making. Besides finding new career opportunities, volunteering also provides teenagers with other skills necessary in the job market, skills that help with their education will also help in the business world.
