Walt Disney: An Important Figure In The 1920s
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”-Walt Disney. This quote pretty much sums up how Walt Disney lived, although he didn't have the greatest experience in education he still kept moving on and pursuing his dream. By living by this quote Walt Disney became the large figure he was in the 1920s. Walt Disney was an important figure in 1920s American History because he didn’t let things hold him back.
Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois. He was born from his mother, Flora Call Disney and his father, Elias Disney. Walt Disney was not heavily educated, having dropped out of high school at the age of seventeen. Walt dropped out of highschool to serve in the military from 1914-1918 (World War 1). This occasion tested his abilities as a person and after he fought in the war he was an ambulance driver in Europe. After his short time being driver in Europe, he returned to

Walt became an apprentice for an illustrator and would soon illustrate for advertisements. Initially in 1922, Walt Disney set up a shop for animating which would lead to his incredible success in the animating business. Walt Disney’s shop failed, so he set off to Hollywood with his brother to continue his cartoon creations. Disney had to overcome his shop going through failure, which led to him to go to Hollywood which allowed his success to bloom.
To become the famous figure he did, Walt Disney created animated cartoons in Hollywood, California. Disney’s largest accomplishment of all came in 1957, when he opened Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This creation was a giant area filled with many rides that involved cartoons and his creations. He realized that his children had a lot of fun going to amusement parks, so he decided to create one. The only problem that he encountered was his death that came 5 years before the creation of disney

The park was not completely ready yet, but Walt did not want to push back the opening date.
