Many of these buildings along Yarra Street have been converted into shops such as the one pictured on the right. Goldfields shopping centre is the main shopping area for the locals; it contains an IGA, a bakery, a medical centre and other shops, which provide for the residences. There are also many shops along Yarra Street, which consist of many cafes and a pub. On Saturdays and Sundays Warrandyte is filled up with tourists who come to the coffee shops for lunch. There is also a high school and two primary schools located in Warrandyte; these provide education for children from the surrounding suburbs. Warrandyte has a lot of parkland as well. Warrandyte state park and Warrandyte reserve are the largest parks in the suburb. Warrandyte also has a football club, netball club, a cricket club, a tennis club and a basketball club. These teams play at Warrandyte reserve and at Anderson creek primary school. The Warrandyte football club has been a big part of the community since 1855 when it was established. Children from nine to seventeen years old can play football for Warrandyte and there is also a senior’s team, which many people come to Warrandyte reserve to watch them play. Warrandyte also runs also runs one of the last volunteer-run festivals in Victoria. It is run in the middle of March each year and features many stalls from locals.
