Watching Television
Television is one of the most useful devices that were invented. TV has much use for many people but some of the people abuse it. TV was also invented with positive thoughts in mind – there would be no national borders, education and communication, it would be easy for the people to know what was happening in the Philippines and also worldwide. However, there are some effects of television in the lives of the viewers.
One of the effects of watching TV is problem in the eye. It is true that there are specifications for watching TV; TV should be 5 m. away from the eye and TV should be placed at the same height with our eyes. However, these do not prevent our eyes from getting tired if we keep watching TV for a long time and it can lead us to poor eyesight because of the radiation of television. Another effect is obesity; many people enjoy eating food while watching the TV because they said that it was addictive. Another effect is the application of the things that you see in the TV program, being exposed to violence is one of the example, people get violent because they thought that what they see in TV was good, most especially in the eyes of the children. Another effect is the addiction to television, I observed that TV has been addictive especially with the teenagers and the children’s, they cannot perform their daily chores, assignments and etc. because of their addiction to television.
Inventions are meant to be beneficial for human beings, if we know how to benefit from them. TV is one of such great inventions that need to be used for the right purpose only – being educated and entertained for a reason in a period of time. We can be safe from or at least reduce the effects of watching too much TV, if we just know how to manage our time and to know the true reason of inventing the
