My eyes first look at the mariners because of the lighter color tones their clothes have. Next, the arcs above the water, they always seem to catch my attention too. It also seems like they make a divider between both sides of the river. The sky uses lighter colors like, the whites and grays in the clouds mixed in with light blue to represent the sky peeping between the clouds. On other images of this painting the windows or balconies, look to be filled with people watching the jousting match. I am unable to see this in my version because of the darker shades of colors make it more difficult to see. At this time period jousting was an event most people liked, this makes more sense that the people are watching it from their homes. When I found out this painting was of a water jousting tournament, I was surprised and it makes some sense based off of what the people are wearing for clothes, and why so many people have the same clothes on, on the boats in the river. Similar jousting events still happen today since it supposedly started in Ancient Egypt ( in 2780 - 2380 BC). The bridge in the background is the Pont Notre-Dame, it is considered the most ancient in
