Nowadays a lot of people are concerned with a topic of developing one's mental abilities. For the past few decades scientists have been developing new approaches in order to understand human’s brain, its structure, potential abilities, and so a lot of different techniques have emerged. Some scientists strongly believe it’s possible to develop one’s brain at any age and in any physical condition, while others strongly oppose this point of view, saying mental abilities should be developed from early childhood. In my paper I would like to analyze the latter point of view, providing ideas for parents how to develop their kids’ abilities.
Doctors and scientists believe that children do a great deal of learning between the ages of three and twelve. At this particular age they tend to develop from rather simplistic preschoolers to independent thinkers, capable of understanding complex issues. Learning and intellectual development is a gradual and continuing process, one that hopefully lasts throughout all of life, rather than merely in childhood. Researchers say, while kids are certainly influenced by peers and mass media, it’s important to pay maximum attention to their development. Continuing to read to and with children, playing games and planning outings, which are both fun and stimulating and encouraging kids’ desire to make decisions are the things that parents can do to help children’s intellectual development.
It’s crucial for parents to make an effort to encourage kids’ desire to experiment and learn about the world around them; this tactic can help to build their confidence and teach them reasoning. There are some simple ways to do that; for example, one can engage toddlers in household chores, allowing them to help sort laundry or measure ingredients when preparing family meals or ask them to follow multiple instructions.
Children are certainly born with some inborn mental abilities, but many experts
