Introduction
As a kid, it was always fun going outside and playing in the yard, riding the bike around the neighborhood, climbing trees in the front yard, and even picking fresh vegetables to eat out of the garden. Today’s children do not go outside and play as much as they used to. They are too caught up with playing on cell phones to notice that there is a whole other world behind their screens. Children today are in worse health shape than those in the 1900s.
Physical Fitness

In the 1900s there was not much fast food around. For example, when driving down Scottsville road in Bowling Green on both sides of the road all anyone can see is fast food restaurants. But, in 1900s when driving down Scottsville road in Bowling Green people might see one or two fast food restaurants. Which, made it hard for children to eat the unhealthy greasy food that they would be buying and eating at fast food restaurants. Due to the limited resource of fast food restaurants families started gardened fresh vegetables and fruits, and that would be what they ate at dinner. These families would sit down and have more home cooked meals then families today have. Children eating more home cooked meals insures that they are getting more of a variety of the food chart and not just the oil, grease and processed food they get at these fast food restaurants. Also, there was less soda and candy to choose from. A lot of companies were not developed until the late 1900s, so there was not as many options for these children to pick from. Candy and sodas were more of treats children got after getting paid for working on the farm. In the 1900s not many kids had an obesity problem. Since these children grew up playing outside and getting exercise in there was not any worry about
