The age of the offender will always be looked at upon a court justice system. Well-being of that individual is proven to be over-looked based on the severity of the crime that was committed. As much of a shame as that is, it cannot be helped as that is simply the way of the human heart. Yes, as I have just said, I believe a mind knows exactly what it is doing in these situations. However, under the circumstances where the juvenile’s home and living environment is in turmoil and savagery, things begin to change. It is a truly sad thing to speak of, however that is just the reality that we live in today and it must be talked about. Should a child really be so severely punished if that child has been in such an environment since birth, and such acts as these crimes being committed is all that the child ever knew to do? Also, you must think about what you do to this delinquent and how it would affect the individual’s family. Parents may lose initiative to be productive, siblings could start having suicidal thoughts whilst reminiscing about their incarcerated brother or sister, and hate/ridicule is certain to follow the family from at least one living
