Although there are many variations of a definition for bias, stereotypes, gender, and equity, it is crucial to make sure that we have a correct definition to allow our teaching practices to be inclusive of all children in our classroom. It is important that teachers are aware of this and the implications this has on their teaching practices. Frawley (2005) explores the implications of gender on education and states numerous ways that teachers can reduce and minimize gender bias and stereotypes.
