While there are cons to women being in combat, there are also many pros. Women can obtain some skills that men do not have. There is also always a chance that a woman is in better shape than a man. Fisher also had a mission in October 2006. She and her MPs had to team up with Able Troops Third Platoon. During this mission, they had to fight and push through a complex ambush. Many people who want to join armed forces call the assessment they go through, “100 Hours of Hell.” Four women who went through this assessment were defeated until they read encouraging graffiti on a portable bathroom. The graffiti read, “The mind is its own place. And itself can make a hell of heaven and a heaven of hell. Don’t quit.” The United States Army Special Operations created the Cultural Support Teams in 2010 to help fight in Afghanistan. These teams contained men, who sometimes could not complete mission. Females who cannot afford school, gain the necessary assets to be educated by joining the military. Women should not serve if their only reasoning is to get an education. Excluding women from being in combat also contradicts “Land of the free and the home of the Brave.” Women prove to be just as brave as men and also just as free. It is also very foolish to turning someone who is willing and able to protect our country because they are female. When it comes down to it, women are fearless and courageous, no matter what.
