They have been married for seven years and have separated twice because David once grabbed her when they were fighting. They both agree that they do not talk about their problems, they will argue and fight and just sweep the problems under the rug. Both have contemplated divorce but it is against their Catholic religion and family values.

She is the oldest of three males and the only female. Her father, John was a cafeteria worker in a local school. Her mother Norma would drink heavily and take barbiturates. Her parents had a stormy relationship and would have loud screaming matches that would then turn physical. The Jones parents used extension cords to discipline and would scream at the children. Claudine assumed the role of caring for her younger siblings while her mother was away and her father at work, and would often miss school. Claudine did minimal homework. The Jones’ family struggled to make ends meet, as her father earned minimum and her mother did seasonal work I local department stores.
Paul, 13, is in the seventh grade and has changed school since the family relocated. Paul has difficulty adjusting to his new school and made only a few friends. Due to this reason Paul frequently misses school. When Paul is present at school he is problematic and often uses his asthma as an excuse to stay out of class. Paul has also been hanging around with the wrong crowd of kids who are known for gang involvement. As of right now Paul has not involved in any criminal behavior that his parents know
