The world today is faced with enormous energy challenges in all ramifications. The ability to proffer solutions to these problems makes us a veritable tool in the society and it depends solely on the amount of information we have per time.
Since childhood, the studies of science and basic engineering have interested me profoundly. I had passion for repairing simple devices, knowing their content and how they operate. This passion paved my way to attending Livingstone College of Arts and Science, Oyo State, Nigeria where I obtained my secondary school leaving certificate and in a bid to know more about engineering, I enrolled at University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria where I am currently undergoing my Bachelors’ of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering. Having progressed along this path, my quest for knowledge has only intensified.
The Petroleum industry is a vast sector that offers a variety of interesting and prospective career opportunities to scholars and ambitious persons. Such career opportunities include reservoir engineering, production and operations, drilling, construction of facilities, geology and geophysics, refinery engineering, research and development, petroleum marketing, economics, Health Safety Security and Environment (H.S.S.E), etc. As a matter of simple truth, I have chosen to pursue a career in the petroleum industry because of some of the opportunities which the industry offers as discussed in what follows. With this in mind, I considered the challenges of the industry.
