A common strategy was a march where people walked in a stately, deliberate manner with signs or they would shout things in a peaceful way to get their point across. They also used speeches which is someone expressing their thoughts and emotions by speaking. Boycotts which is to abstain from buying or using something was a way to show that without them businesses couldn't do as well without their money or support. Even legal cases were fought for civil rights were a dispute between opposing parties is resolved by a court. Non activists tried to fight these strategies with their own. This was the biggest march held by Martin Luther King Jr during his civil rights campaign. During the march he gave his famous speech “I Have a Dream” and this speech was about giving black people jobs and freedom. MLK Jr was very calm during all his speeches and didn't get to fired up like a lot of white supremacists when they would share their thoughts with others. Montgomery Bus Boycott in Montgomery, Alabama started when a black lady named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white man. So the black people in the town boycotted the bus company which means they didn't buy tickets or use the buses anymore. A famous legal case named Brown v. Board of Education in Topeka, Kansas was fought over desegregating schools. This legal case which is a dispute between two parties was finally settled in the Supreme
