What Does Integrity Mean To You Essay
If someone left their money on a table, would you pocket it? Or would you give it back to them? There is a popular show on ABC called “What Would You Do?” that truly epitomizes how everyday Americans either show or don’t show integrity in certain situations. If you’re not familiar with the show, “What Would You Do”, it is a show that sets up integrity testing situations similar to the money situation above, with actors and cameras to sees how average Americans react to those situations. Integrity to me is what you do when no one is watching and if you are an honest and moral person. In my opinion, integrity is not only an action; integrity is a character trait. Integrity is who a person can be defined as. When you meet someone who fails to …show more content…
Being a person of integrity, is a key to living a life of significance. Wellness integrity, is similar to integrity but it is regarding your health and well-being, as well as, the health and well-being of others. Do you tell your family members that you’re sticking to your promise of exercising every day, but never do it? That shows a lack of wellness integrity. This summer, I have demonstrated wellness integrity, by sticking to my goal of eating healthier. I told myself, that I would not buy chips and eat a bunch of junk food this summer, and that most of my snacks would be fruits or vegetables. Throughout the summer I have demonstrated wellness integrity by being true to myself, and making sure I actually ate healthier. It was not always easy, but to me, my word is something I never want people to be distrustful of. If I say I will do something, I will do it. The last thing I want people to remember me as is a person who lacks integrity or as a person who cannot be trusted. I want people to feel comfortable confiding in me, and trusting that I will always do the right thing. To me, integrity is a character trait I must carry, even if I were to carry no other

Integrity is a new book from Mark Parker that casts a critical eye on the current state of character, ethics and morals. This case was based on George Tenet and the decisions he made within the CIA, successful and unsuccessful. Tenet served under the Clinton and Bush administrations from 1997-2004. During the Clinton administration, his main focus was to rebuild the CIA from its lack of morale and budget issues. Surprisingly (in my opinion because of his lack of experience), he was successful in the beginning process of rebuilding. Unfortunately for him, after Bush was elected the 9/11 attacks happened and his success started to decline. The decisions he made during the Bush administration and his lack of focus led to the demise of the DCI and the weakening of the CIA. I think his popularity during the Clinton administration got to his head and he just got sloppy during the Bush administration, but his decisions tremendously affected the way CIA is run today.…

There are many concepts, that Americans are exposed to- and even use- in their regular day to day lives, that are not very clearly defined. Maybe these concepts are too confusing. Or too broad to clearly understand. Or they’re just vague. Or, perhaps, maybe these concepts simply are not valued enough within that American “go-go-go” mindset to have time taken to really think about and understand what they mean. One of these cheapened, romanticized concepts, is honor. Honor always has, and always will, exist in some way or form in every single society, including America, however morphed and faded it might be.…

Integrity is one of the most talked about and most abused of the Seven Army Values. First we must define integrity it is doing the right thing consistently. That means that we must do the legally and morally correct thing every time. Just because something is hard or unpleasant does not mean that we can look the other way. Doing the right thing is not a matter of deciding do I help my fellow soldier and let him slide on an Army regulation or do I uphold the regulation. It means doing both they are both equally important. Sometimes helping a soldier means that you must enforce the regulations and in some cases that can mean discharging them from the Army at other times it means fighting for the soldier and getting them the help that they need to succeed in the Army.…

High school is a period of wonder, excitement, and mystery, where a teen’s first taste of freedom guides them on their journey. On the contrary, it is a time of social pressure and anxiety, where fitting in with “the crowd” is what looms on every young boy’s mind. This was me as a sophomore, trying to fit into the archetype of the athlete; the student who could clock a 6 minute mile or just hit a jump shot. I would mirror their actions, trying to force myself to copy certain qualities, like music and things that they enjoyed. But alas, my 5’8 height, 130lb body weight, and scrawny body frame questioned my ability to perform like a top athlete. Even so, I conformed myself to the social norm of what I thought was cool, allowing peer pressure to get the best of me.…
