Special education administrators lead schools and facilities specifically for special populations. The everyday tasks include: setting goals, abiding by laws set in place for special education students, forming a set of rules to be implemented and carried out by students and staff, and communication with the parents and guardians of the children under his/her care. This profession is not limited to students with learning disabilities. It can also include students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. “Impulse control, ADHD, and PTSD. Borderline personality, which is similar to split personality, was common but mostly among girls. ADHD caused by the parents’ drug use was the most difficult to treat. There is not exactly an effective medicine to treat it, and next to nothing can be done to help them. Some of the children that had emotional disorders did not actually have any problem learning. A certain disability can occasionally cause uncontrollable episodes that happen seemingly without causation, and administrators are obliged to deal with those situations.
It is not easy being a special education administrator. He/she has to make tough decisions daily. That being said, I do not think there should be these alternate routes for education certifications especially in the area of special populations. Special populations require a very high amount of attention and dedication, and it does not seem that someone who was not willing to spend the time getting certified the right way has the kind of dedication required.
I was aware of this profession before the class, and I continue to have just as much respect for it as I did before. It interests me because these students require an attention and dedication that I could offer, and they need so much more than just simple instruction. They need constant encouragement and
